ROAD RUN 2018
Recently, my school organised a marathon on the 24th of February. I have a winning streak and getting a medal every year is a must and is also a goal for me. However, my mother wanted to go back to her hometown, which is very unfortunate for me as I have no choice but to break my winning streak.
For the road run competition this year, I trained hard, going out of my comfort-zone, pushing myself to run further and faster. I knew that I will be going up against people older and better than me so I trained every day, sometimes I even feel like vomiting and my legs felt like sticks, having no strength to even stand up, but I still keep going.
When my parents told where we will heading off to that weekend, my mind went blank. Fortunately, after begging my mom for what felt like hours, she finally decided to let me stay. My mom, knowing how dedicated I was to school sport activities, finally let me stay for the road run competition!
On the day that I long awaited and prepared for have finally arrived. The competitors sat together at the pavilion. It was a very awkward situation where we looked at each other, trying to guess who is their potential nemesis. A very long speech later, we walked to the starting line and waited for the gun to go off. A few minutes later, BOOM! And we all ran for the finish line...
In the end, I got the medal..... for 1st!! Everyone cheered and clapped, even the school bell rang for my victory! Then, I woke up to the alarm clock, as annoying as ever. After putting the baggages into the car, we set off to my parents' hometown...
